What's PISA.net?
It is the Official Animal Health Management System adopted by the portuguese government since 1990.
After two decades of continuous improvement, the time has come for Digidelta to share the accumulated experience with other countries or territories that wish to implement a reliable system to manage animal health and disease eradication programs.
With this system, Disease Eradication Plans, which contain an endless combination of variables and require access and updating of information by different entities involved, are transformed into simple, easy-to-control procedures.
PISA is a flexible system that can be adjusted to the requirements of each specific country, regardless of its dimensions. It is a central system used for controlling Animal Health that complies with the specific regulations and requirements of each country or organization responsible for the sanitary control of farms.
It is a powerful information system specially designed to assist government entities in managing animal health on a given territory allowing easy identification, movement control for individual animals or herds, sanitary classification among other functions.
In accordance with international legislation
Created to manage and control not one but dozens, hundreds or thousands of farms on a regional, national, continental or global scale, PISA responds to all demands made by the European Community and international organisations belonging to the sector and complies with the good practices and objectives defined by the IEO – International Epizooty Organisation, that is, “to improve animal health and well-being worldwide regardless of the culture and economic situation of member-countries”.
PISA is already considered an important tool for animal, public and economic health services related to this activity. Easy to use, handle, access and update, the system combines data such as the identity, origin and transfer of animals with sanitary information as well as diagnostic and prophylactic measures applied and to be used in the future. Therefore, all animals of veterinary interest are included in a single, unlimited database, which covers decision-making and resource and capital management by entities responsible for animal health management in the country covered by the system.
Designed for an easy implememntation
PISA.net was designed to allow an easy adaptation and implementation to a new territory.
Despite the complexity of its database, PISA.net does not require expensive hardware and it is able to work even in the most remote territores. If internet acess is available, it can work online. Otherwise, the Intelligent Data Propagation Sysem (SPD) will synchronize whenever a communication channel is available.
